Apprentice & Journeyman Autobody Technicians

Big Rig Collision Calgary is Hiring – Apprentice & Journeyman Autobody Technicians

Big Rig Collision Calgary is seeking Apprentice and Journeyman Autobody Technicians to join our growing team. As a leader in heavy-duty collision repair and refurbishment, we take pride in delivering top-quality services for motor coaches, transit buses, tractors, trailers, and recreational vehicles.

Position: Apprentice & Journeyman Autobody Technicians
Location: 6061 90 Avenue SE, Calgary, AB

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform autobody repairs on heavy-duty vehicles, including structural and cosmetic damage repairs.
  • Disassemble and reassemble vehicle components as part of the repair and refinishing process.
  • Use various autobody tools and equipment to restore vehicles to pre-accident condition.
  • Repair or replace damaged panels, fenders, and other body parts as required.
  • Work with painters and other technicians to ensure proper surface preparation and finishing.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment, following all safety procedures and company standards.

Qualifications:

  • Registered apprentice or certified journeyman in autobody repair (or equivalent experience in heavy-duty vehicle autobody work).
  • Strong knowledge of autobody repair techniques, tools, and materials.
  • Ability to read and interpret work orders, repair estimates, and technical documents.
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
  • Familiarity with safety protocols and industry regulations.

Position: Industrial Sandblaster – Experienced
Location: 6061 90 Avenue SE, Calgary, AB

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform sandblasting operations on heavy-duty vehicles and components to remove paint, rust, and debris.
  • Prepare surfaces for painting and refinishing by ensuring proper cleaning and profiling.
  • Operate and maintain sandblasting equipment, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.
  • Mask and protect areas that do not require blasting.
  • Inspect surfaces post-blasting to ensure they meet quality standards and are ready for further treatment.
  • Work collaboratively with painters and technicians to maintain an efficient workflow.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as an industrial sandblaster, preferably in the automotive or heavy-duty vehicle sector.
  • Familiarity with sandblasting equipment, media, and safety procedures.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality workmanship.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documents and specifications.

  • Apply primers, enamels, urethanes, and other coatings using brushes, rollers, and spray equipment.

  • Inspect finished surfaces for quality, making necessary touch-ups or adjustments.
  • Collaborate with team members to meet project deadlines and maintain workflow efficiency.

Qualifications:
